Your Second Fair: exhibitor lists, appointments and a different trip

A second visit is not a repeat of the first. The official website and app run the exhibitor directory year-round, so the trip can be pre-arranged booth by booth instead of walked at random.

What changes between the first and second visit

The first visit answers a different question from the second. The first time, you are working out which categories fit your market and whether Guangzhou can supply them at all. The second time, you already know the categories, and the trip is about specific factories: which ones make your product, which ones quote honestly, which ones deliver.

That shift changes the preparation. On a first visit, preparation is categories and phases; on a second, it is a shortlist of exhibitors and a set of appointments. The buyers who return are the ones who treat the second trip as a different job with a different toolkit.

The exhibitor directory runs year-round

The official website and the Canton Fair app operate 365 days a year and mirror the onsite exhibition sections, so the exhibitor list for your categories is available before you book anything, not when you land.

The directory supports filtering by industry, product category, specification, enterprise type and trade mode, which turns the size of the Fair from a problem into a query. The same functions carry short videos and e-catalogues, so products can be reviewed before the booth conversation, not after it.

The app adds itinerary planning: shortlisted exhibitors can be added to a schedule, and the app generates navigation routes to their booths inside the Complex. The search work done in advance is the trip.

Pre-arranging booth visits

The app and website support direct communication with exhibitors: posting a sourcing request, instant messaging, scheduling an appointment and exchanging business cards. Returning buyers who use these channels arrive with a diary of confirmed booth meetings instead of a hope.

Write the message like an inquiry, not a greeting: state the product, the specification you already know, the target quantity and the day you want to meet. Exhibitors who receive a clear inquiry respond; ones who receive a hello mostly do not. Follow up after a week, and keep a backup shortlist for the booths that never answer.

Confirm the appointment the day before through the same channel, and treat a confirmed booth visit as the fixed point of the day around which everything else is arranged.

Working the halls with a plan

With appointments fixed, the unplanned time between them becomes productive instead of anxious: the halls between two confirmed booths are where substitutes and adjacent categories show up, and a planned day absorbs that serendipity instead of being buried by it.

The app's itinerary and navigation functions then do their job: routes between the booths on your list, and the AI notes function summarising each conversation afterwards, so the evening review starts from a record rather than from memory.

Using the interval days

The two-day intervals between phases are when exhibitors change over the halls, and they are the natural window for factory visits outside the Complex. The organiser runs Trade Bridge events that take buyers to industrial bases and key industrial parks for direct manufacturer matchmaking during the Fair.

For a second-time buyer the interval is where the trip compounds: the booth conversations identify the factories, and the interval days turn them into visits. A trip that combines both halves ends with supplier relationships, not just business cards.

App functions, the year-round directory and Trade Bridge events come from the organiser's official pages. The message-writing and appointment strategy are our own.
